Possibly some of my favorite mediums to work with are graphite/charcoal and pen and ink. When using the charcoal or graphite emotions become much easier to portray. The moment the blending begins there is already a story. The perfectionist in me is forced to allow the piece to almost direct the outcome. While in contrast, the sharpness and clarity achieved with pen and ink as well as the finite detailing possible create vivid images that hold the viewer’s attention in their demand for noticing the details.
